About Emmy James Studio

Hello,

I’m Lucy, Mummy of two and the owner & designer behind Emmy James Studio, a small home studio based in South Manchester, UK.

I studied textile design for fashion at the Manchester School of Art, specialising in print design and began freelancing after I graduated, before venturing into the world of Visual Merchandising and E-commerce. 

Emmy James Studio (named after my children) had been a dream for a while, and after walking away from 12 years in E- commerce in December 2024, I decided now was the time. Emmy James Studio was then born in Spring 2025. 

My greetings cards and art prints are created using a mixture of hand painting and digital drawing. I love to use bold and playful colours, usually taking inspiration from nature or food & drink to create joyful, cute designs to make you smile. 

All art prints are printed to order in my home studio and my greetings cards and stationery are printed in the UK using recyclable materials.
